Rhode Island orthopedic society

Advocacy

The Rhode Island Orthopedic Society represents and unifies Rhode Island’s community of orthopedic surgeons working diligently to advance awareness and the support for the practice of orthopedic medicine through our valued relationships with the state legislature.

The Political Action Committee of the American Association of Orthopoaedic Surgeons, or “The Orthopaedic PAC,” is the only national political action committee in Washington, DC dedicated solely to representing orthopaedic surgeons before Congress.

The Orthopaedic PAC’s main priority is to give surgeons a voice in the ongoing discussions in Washington, DC that affect many of the decisions made in orthopaedic practices here in Rhode Island. These discussions ensure that PAC contributions are effectively disbursed to continue to advocate for the orthopaedic profession.

Why should i donate to the pac?

Over the last year, the membership assisted the advocacy work including:

  • Telehealth
  • Prior Authorization Reform
  • Out of Network/Surprise Billing
  • Scope of Practice Issues
